Hi.

We love puns and Cape Ann and being super. Welcome to our blog.

On Mother's Day

On Mother's Day

Having a blog with the word "moms" in the title, we would be remiss if we did not tip our pens to give a big salute to all moms on Mother's Day. So here we go.

Happy Mother's Day to you moms on Instagram who have all those polished pictures, always looking bright and shiny, but also fall apart when no one's looking. We see you. Happy Mother's Day. If a flawless feed is what you need to keep your sanity, power to you girl.

Happy Mother's Day to you moms who haven't posted a picture of their kids for social media in months. We know you have 14,000 pictures on your phone that you will someday print out, or make that photo book. We see you too.

Happy Mother's Day to the moms who make the big sacrifices to make their children's lives better. The ones we can all see, like a postponed career move, or those nice big bags under your eyes from that newborn your birthed months (or years) ago. And cheers to the quiet sacrifices that no one can see and maybe no one will ever know about. I don't need to tell you what those are. They are so personal and private and we know you'll keep them locked up in your heart, with a hope that one day, you can revisit them, when children grow, when things calm down. (Although word on the street, this "calming down" business isn't an actual thing.) And a deep bow to those moms who have brought out those dreams locked away for so many years. We see you starting things and pursuing projects and careers, knowing age is just a number and some dreams are worth the wait.

A salute to the single moms, the married moms, the working moms, the moms who stay at home. The moms who work at home, the moms who take their kids to work. The moms who put on Pinterest birthday parties with perfectly crafted cupcakes, and the moms who throw a party together the day before with pizza and water balloons in backyard.

We see you and know you are doing your best. We want to tell you that you are enough and so are your efforts. Sleepless nights and eating meals while standing up and locking the bathroom as you watch tiny fingers reach under while saying, "Mommy?" We get it. You're doing a great job, you really are.

And last, a quiet hug in the corner for those women who have a really hard time today. We see you too. Take care of yourself and know your emotions and feelings surrounding today are valid. It's okay to feel hurt, whatever your reason. We get that too. Breathe deep and know you're loved.

So from our blog to you, Happy Mother's Day friends.
